BeeGFS is a highly scalable filesystem. It can run on a single server but has the capability to scale out to hundreds of servern.
The four components of BeeGFS are:
The minimum requirement for a running BeeGFS Filesystem is one BeeGFS Management Server, one BeeGFS Metadata Server, one BeeGFS Storage Server and one BeeGFS Client. This can be realised on one server or inside a virtual machine. For testing of BeeGFS a community edition is avaiable for download, however, this does not allow to use the enterprise edition features. To be able to test the enterprise edition feature a 60 day test license is available. For use in production an enterprise subscription is manadatory.
